"Geophysik IV"
Sculpture in folded paper on the theme of the seed and the surface/structure relationship.
The technical approach to this sculpture is based on creating the model using NURBS. NURBS are mathematical curves described by a formula, rather than the traditional points in modeling space. They are particularly well suited to organic shapes. Geophysik IV, for example, is a curved paper fold of a seed, which in places reveals a rigid inner structure.
